Russia’s Krasnodar Territory in the Northern Caucasus is the biggest exporter of Russian sparking wines — its share in the total exports of bottled bubblies is 71%.
In 2017 alone, Krasnodar exported to US$1,8 million — a 48% increase o the previous year. The biggest importers of Krasnodar sparking wines are ex-Soviet republics: Latvia (51% in 2017), Kazakhstan (22%) and Belarus (7%). Outside the former Soviet Union, the leading importers of Krasnodar wines are Israel (8% in 2017), Germany (4%) and Japan.
The Krasnodar Territory was followed by the other two leading sparking wine producers which jointly accounted for another 18% of 2017 exports: Rostov Oblast which exported to US$363,000, and North Ossetia-Alania, a Northern Caucasian republic, whose exports totaled U$90,000.
