Schneider Electric to launch R&D center in Innopolis

Schneider Electric is going to launch an R&D center in high-tech city Innopolis in 2017. Today, JSC Schneider Electric and Innopolis SEZ have executed a letter of intent in the presence of President Minikhanov of the Republic of Tatarstan and Emmanuel Babo, a Deputy CEO of Schneider Electric.

The site was selected based on the results of long negotiations that took place between the parties, including a visit made to Tatarstan by Laurent Juliard, Schneider Electric's Vice President for Global Researches and Developments, and a meeting held between the company's executives and Rustam Minikhanov in Paris in November 2016.

R&D activities will primarily focus on adapting and developing information management systems and specialist software to cater the needs of the oil and gas section and other sectors of industry. Furthermore, the company has decided to undertake studies based on its new R&D center in Innopolis focusing on the cyber security of industrial facilities.
