Russia is going to receive Japanese investments for power economy with Japan saving on oil transportation. This is associated with INK-Zapad, a joint venture created by Irkutsk Oil Company, Itochu, Inpex and JOGMEC (Japan). Crude oil produced by the joint venture is expected to be sold in Russia and exported to Japan and markets in other Asian countries. The project is expected to have been approved by the Russian Government by the end of 2016.
