Czech Republic ready to supply machine tools to OTZ and Petrozavodskmash
A meeting held between the Consul General of the Czech Republic in Saint Petersburg and the Governor of Karelia has focused on economic cooperation issues. Karel Kuhnl, the Consul General of the Czech Republic in Saint Petersburg, has made an official visit to Karelia. After inspecting EFAR Engineering Robotics Center, Petrozavodskmash and Onezhsky Ship-Building Yard, the foreign delegation held a meeting with Governor of the Republic Aleksanteri Hutilainen.
"Karelia is ready to continue cooperation with the Czech Republic. Czech businesses have already implemented successful project in our region. And we are grateful for their cooperation," Aleksanteri Hutilainen said in his greeting speech.
Governor of Karelia mentioned such projects as a plant designed to manufacture Kalevala OSB slabs and construction of a small-scale hydropower plant in Sortavalsky District in 2014. Karelia and the Czech Republic are mutually interested in cooperation in machine-building – Czech machine tools were installed at Petrozavodskmash as early as in the 50s. Aleksanteri Hutilainen invited the Czech to invest into the Onezhsky Tractor Plant and Petrozavodskmash. In particular, these enterprises are interested in delivering machine tools from the Czech Republic. The Consul General of the Czech Republic in Saint Petersburg confirmed that his country was interested in those projects. He also confirmed that the Czech party was interested in the construction of hydroelectric power stations. The Consul General also highly praised the operations of the Onezhsky Ship-Building Yard.
