Tigers Realm Coal Limited (Australia) has commenced mining operations to develop the coal field called "Fandiushkinskoye Pole" at Chukotka.

According to previous reports, Governor of the Chukotka Autonomous District Roman Kopin and CEO of Tigers Realm Coal Limited Peter Andrew Balka executed a bilateral Cooperation Agreement to develop the Region's metallurgical coal deposits.

In connection with the agreement, the regional authorities intend to provide comprehensive support to implement a project aimed to boost the company's output to 10–12 million tonnes per annum. It is expected that coal will be supplied to Asian-Oceania countries, including China and South Korea and will also be used to cater Chukotka's needs.

Operations have already commenced at the "Fandiushkinskoye Field" to extract high quality metallurgical coal. About 200 thousand tonnes of coal are expected to be extracted in 2017 which figure is estimated to increase to 500 tonnes of coals from 2018 onward.
