Chinese company Guangzhou Automobile Group Motor (GAC Motor) is considering the possibility to build a light commercial trucks facility in the Leningrad region.
The facility will probably be located on the territory of “Fedorovsloe” industrial park and have a capacity to produce 50 thousand cars per year.
At the beginning of 2015 director of GAC Motor Mr. U Sun said that the company would like to establish in Russia an assembly facility with capacity of 50 000 cars per year.
In March 2016 GAC Motor launched in Russia sales of LCV Gonow Way M1 trucks with capacity of 800-900 kg. They are equipped with 1l gasoline engine, have 56 horsepower engine, 5-speed transmission. These trucks are offered for RUR 750 000.
Apart from trucks GAC manufactures a wide range of motor-cars. For example, off-roader GAC Trumpchi GS8 SUV which in size can be compared to Toyota Land Cruiser 200 was presented in April.
