Austrian businessmen ready to invest into Omsk projects

Representatives of Austrian businesses have taken interest in a ceramic plant in the city of Omsk and a facility manufacturing OSB slabs in the northern area of the Region.

A business delegation has visited Omsk on a business trip headed by Rudolf Lukavsky, a Trade Adviser to the Austrian Embassy. The Austrian entrepreneurs met with the government of Omsk and representatives of the Regional Ministry of Economy, visited a number of Omsk businesses and held negotiations with Omsk businessmen.

The Agency for Development and Investments presented a project contemplating the production of OSB slabs in the Tara Region whose implementation would require some EUR 99.5 million. It is also planned to erect in Omsk a plant to manufacture engineering ceramics, including products made of ceramic nanocomposites, and to master the manufacturing ofmetal oxide based nanopowders. Investments into the project are estimated at a level of approximately EUR 6 million. There are necessary resources to launch these projects, including infrastructural and logistic elements.

"The project demonstrated to us seems to be interesting," Rudolf Lukavsky noted. "Our delegation includes representatives of companies specializing in hi-tech. But apart from these, our businessmen will be interested in projects associated with the processing of natural resources, chemical and wood processing industries and any others. Despite the sanctions, we are interested in cooperation."
