Leroy Merlin Russia is planning to open a construction products hypermarket in the Kaliningrad Region in 2017. Its construction progress was discussed at international investment forum "Sochi 2016" between Anton Alikhanov, temporarily acting Chairman of the Regional Government, and Vincent Jeanty, the CEO of Leroy Merlin Russia.

Currently, Leroy Merlin is constructing the hypermarket in a village called Orlovka situated in the Guriyevsky District in close vicinity to the city of Kaliningrad. It is expected to be opened in 2017. The Kaliningrad based compound is going to become the 50^th Russian hypermarket owned by the international retail chain.

"The company is studying the local market to identify vendors offering goods for construction, repair and design activities. We operate in a price segment which is affordable for a wide range of buyers but we are extremely picky about the quality of products offered by our suppliers. The company is building socially responsible businesses in the regions of its operations and is ready to contribute to efforts aimed to support social projects as much as it can," Mr. Jeanty said.

International company Leroy Merlin focuses on the sale of goods designed for construction, fit-out and finishing of country houses, buildings, apartments and gardens. It launched its first Russian store back in 2004. The company plans to almost triple its Russian footprint to 100 stores in the next ten years.
