Smolensk Region to cooperate with Israeli companies


Rostislav Rovbel, the Head of the Smolensk Region Investment Development Department has held a meeting with Teymuraz Khikhinashvili, the Chairman of the Israeli-Russian Business Council, in Moscow. The business meeting has resulted in the execution of an interfacing agreement and agreement to arrange future meetings with leading Israeli businesses.


In the course of the meeting, Rostislav Rovbel told about the Region's investment potential and active role played by the Regional Government in developing economy, attracting investments and providing state support to businesses and preferences which might be offered by the Smolensk Region to major investors. Rostislav Rovbel mentioned IT, healthcare, pharmacy and agriculture as priority directions for cooperation with companies originating from Israel.


Furthermore, the parties reached agreement that the site of the Israeli-Russian Business Council would display to representatives of Israeli businesses information describing the Smolensk Region and investment opportunities.


Teymuraz Khikhinashvili confirmed that Israeli companies were ready to cooperate with Smolensk Region businesses noting the Region's high investment attractiveness.
