Swedish investors express interest in hop production in Chuvashia

The Chuvash Republic's Minister of Agriculture Sergei Artamonov has held a meeting with a delegation representing the Swedish business circles recently.

The Chuvash Republic's Minister of Agriculture Sergei Artamonov has held a meeting with a delegation representing the Swedish business circles recently.


Sergei Artamonov as the Head of the Ministry of Agriculture told the Swedish guests about promising directions for developing the Republic's agriculture. The guests showed interest in available options for implementing investment projects pertaining to stock farming and vegetable growing in the Region. The Swedish expressed specific interest in hop production.


The Minister told that the Region's climatic conditions were favorable for hop (Humulus lupulus) cultivation. Moreover, special focus is made on and support is provided to hop growing in the Republic by the Russian Ministry of Agriculture.


Sergei Artamonov noted that the Republic was implementing a host of co-projects involving Japanese, Chinese and Swedish partners which strengthened such relations from year to year. The Republic's Government makes all efforts on a staged basis to establish contacts and build relations on a reciprocal basis.
