A metal-cutting tools plant owned by LLC Guring, a Russian subsidiary of German tool manufacturer Guring has opened in Nizhny Novgorod. According to Yury Gulyaev, the company's CEO, this is the first plant constructed in Russia under a German greenfield project. Investments totaled EUR 6 million or RUB 400 million. The plant will manufacture rotary cutting tools for drilling, thread cutting, shaping, chamfering and uncoiling as well as tooling systems for comprehensive processing operations. The facility's capacity will be 21,000 units of tools a month with each of the seven machines manufacturing 3,000 units. By 2020, the German concern intends to have commissioned the second and the third phases of the plant that will manufacture diamond and high-speed cutting tools. The new facility's products will be focused on the Russian market, including Nizhny Novgorod-based enterprises such as Hydromash, Liebherr, Danieli and others.
