Business cooperation between Russia and Japan discussed in Khabarovsk

Japanese investors consider the implementation of projects in healthcare, agriculture and a number of other Russian industries as attractive, Tikahito Harada, a Japanese Government spokesman for Japanese-Russian relations, is quoted as saying to journalists.

"We discussed at the meeting current progress and prospects for future cooperation. Agriculture, healthcare and environment are the areas in respect of which cooperation is now being developed under certain projects. We will continue this work", Mr. Harada said summarizing the results of the fifth meeting of the Interregional Cooperation Sub-Committee of the Russian-Japanese Intergovernmental Commission for Trade and Economy that took place on Friday in Khabarovsk.

According to him, Japanese companies are "positively" interested in joint projects to be implemented together with Russian businesses. Their implementation, however, depends solely on the "interest of each individual Japanese company".
