Italy ‒ Kabardino-Balkaria’s first trade partner

A delegation headed by Pierpaolo Lodigiani, the General Honorary Consul to the Italian Republic in the South Federal District and North Caucasus Federal District, and Niccolo Fontana, the Director of the Trade and Economic Department of the Italian Embassy in Moscow, have visited Kabardino-Balkaria.

A delegation headed by Pierpaolo Lodigiani, the General Honorary Consul to the Italian Republic in the South Federal District and North Caucasus Federal District, and Niccolo Fontana, the Director of the Trade and Economic Department of the Italian Embassy in Moscow, have visited Kabardino-Balkaria. About 50 Italian companies have presented their projects in agriculture, healthcare, pharmaceutics and tourism.

A meeting between Italian and Kabardino-Balkaria business circles took place on Thursday. It was preceded by a plenary meeting involving the guests and members of the Republic's Government. Kabardino-Balkaria is the initiator of the country's intensive gardening, as was mentioned at the meeting. This is a result of seven-year cooperation between Italy and Kabardino-Balkaria, as opined by Muayed Dadov, the First Deputy PM of the Republic's Government. Approximately 2 hectares of intensive gardens are set out in the Republic annually. Although the first garden that was set out in Kabardino-Balkaria seven years ago was absolutely 'Italian' (from care and maintenance specialists to technology and planting stock), today the Republic makes most of necessary materials for new gardens by itself and it also has skilled labor. According to Pierpaolo Lodigiani, this is a big victory for Kabardino-Balkaria. The foreign delegation visited Kabardino-Balkaria in connection with a project called "Italy meets Caucasus". Italian businessmen are going to visit Ingushetia, Chechnya and Dagestan in November.
