EGGER is going to launch an MDF plant in the third quarter this year. The implementation of the project was discussed by Governor Alexey Ostrovsky of the Smolensk Region at a meeting held with representatives of the Austrian group.

EGGER DREVPRODUKT GAGARIN operates a facility manufacturing and laminating chip board in the Gagarin District. The Ministry of Industry put it on the list of companies that exert considerable influence on industry and trade.

In 2015, the company proceeded to the construction of an MDF plant to become the largest one in Europe. The total amount to be invested will exceed RUB 16 billion. The plant will employ about 200 persons. It will feature a floorings production string, an MDF production press, two laminating lines, an impregnation line and a mini-TPP that will use biofuel. The investor intends to use the newest environment protection equipment.

According to Thomas Laissing, the CFO of EGGER Group, the investors plan to construct a railroad and laminating string in the years to come which will offer even more workplaces.
