Last week, a meeting was held in the office of the Kuzbass CCI involving a delegation from the Republic of China to discuss the potential construction of a plant to assemble Yutong model buses in the Kemerovo Region.

Such offer was made to regional authorities by representatives of Zhengzhou Yutong Group Co., Ltd., a major bus manufacturing and assembling enterprise originating from the Heavenly Empire. The company is one of leaders in the Chinese automotive industry. According to experts, the products manufactured by the Asian auto giant are sold to 130 countries and regions nowadays.

At the meeting with the Chinese colleagues, the Kemerovo Region was represented by Petr Shikalev, the Director of the Regional Transport and Communication Department, Valery Stsepuro, a lead specialist of Agency for Attracting and Protecting Investments, and Marina Shavgulidze, the General Director of the Kuzbass CCI.

The discussions resulted in an agreement that representatives of Kuzbass businesses would jointly with the Chinese company develop a draft programme and prepare a feasibility calculation for the construction of an assembly facility (KD plant) at Kuzbass. The Chinese party will also assume the obligation to develop financial instruments and proposals for implementing the investment project.

The parties decided to revert to the consideration of this proposal in approximately two months when specific calculations and project implementation mechanisms are available.
