Tatarstan and Germany agree on 'maleic' cooperation

At a meeting that took place in the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Tatarstan, government officials told about the outcomes of a Tatarstan delegation's visit to Germany. One of these may result in the construction in Tatarstan of a maleic anhydride facility costing some EUR 120 million.

Tatarstan and Germany agree on 'maleic' cooperation

At a meeting that took place in the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Tatarstan, government officials told about the outcomes of a Tatarstan delegation's visit to Germany. One of these may result in the construction in Tatarstan of a maleic anhydride facility costing some EUR 120 million. Maleic anhydride is widely used to manufacture films, synthetic fiber and pharmaceuticals.

On the 2^nd and 3^rd of June, RT President Rustam Minnikhanov made a business trip to Saxony and Thuringia. On the first day, Mr. Minnikhanov visited a series of Saxony's industrial sites and enterprises. More specifically, these included Eberspacher Exhaust Nechnology (producing catalyst agents for automotive vehicles), EAST 4-D Carbon Technology (producing light structures made of composite materials) and Micromat (engineering company belonging to the machine-building and machine-tool sectors).

On the 3^rd of June, Tatarstan President held meetings and negotiations with German partners in Thuringia. Mr. Minnikhanov familiarized himself with the operations of Analytik Jena AG (analytical measurement devices and products), Jena-Optronik (optoelectronic systems) and Leibniz Institute of Photonic Technology. The second half of the day was devoted to the signing of an agreement between the Kazan State Power Engineering University and SARAD GmbH contemplating the creation of Tatarstan-German Engineering Center to deal with energy-efficiency and environmental safety.
