SAP and Yandex tailoring joint service to forecast customer behavior
German software vendor SAP and Yandex data factory (YDF), a unit of Russian Yandex being in charge of big data analytics, will jointly develop predictive analytics cloud services, according to SAP's and YDF's report.
The partners want to offer a service based on big data analysis that will enable companies to tailor personal offers for their customers, predict customer outflows and issue recommendations on how to retain customers. The partners promise to cut costs incurred to acquire new and retain old customers by 10%, according to the report. According to Tatyana Zvereva, a representative of SAP, SAP's costs to launch the joint programme will be several thousand Euros. YDF has not disclosed its investments. SAP and YDF believe that the service will be useful for companies belonging to the consumer market such as retail, e-trade, banking and telecom. Such business has already accumulated sufficient data about customers' behavior, without which it is impossible to make use of YDF's analytics. The processing of bulk data allows predicting customer behavior by specifying products or services customers tend to buy.
YDF's solutions need integration with business automation tools (ERP, CRM, etc.), Alexander Khanin, YDF's Executive Director, is quoted as saying in the report. According to him, customers find it difficult to integrate services offered by different vendors and partnership with SAP will enable YDF to offer its customers predictive analytics without any extra integration costs.
