EGP Invest (Czech Republic) has signed an appropriate agreement in Moscow on the 30th of May.

EGP Invest will participate in the construction of a nuclear multi-functional fast research reactor. The world's most powerful (150MW of thermal output) nuclear research reactor will appear in Russia. The Czech company has already executed a cooperation agreement on Monday, the 30th of May, at Atomexpo 2016 Forum in Moscow.

Thanks to its unique technical parameters, the multi-functional fast research reactor will address a number of challenges relating to the construction of new effective and safe nuclear power units, including fast neuron reactors with closed nuclear fuel cycle required for future nuclear power industry.

According to Viacheslav Galushkov, the Director of State Specialized Design Institute (a research division of the Russian Federal Atomic Energy Agency (Rosatom)), the Czech company has proposed design solutions for the turbine block. Options for creating a design for steam generators to be used for the multi-functional fast research reactor are being discussed.

The multi-functional fast research reactor unit is scheduled to be commissioned after 2020.
