The European Scientific-Industrial Chamber published the International Academic Ranking of World Universities-European Standard ARES-2016.

According to the experts of the regional Ministry of Education and Science, the ARES-2016 rating has three major categories. High quality of teaching, scientific activity and graduates compliance to employer's requirements and their demand provides the grade «A», reliable quality of teaching - the grade «B», and adequate quality of teaching - the grade «C». The D category means that the establishment has serious problems with the quality of education. As a result of the automated selection, which completely excludes the human factor, three Ulyanovsk higher education institutions were included in the list with the grade «B». So, the Ulyanovsk State University took the 96th place, the Ulyanovsk State Agricultural Academy named after P.A. Stolypin was the 107th, and the Ulyanovsk State Technical University was placed 117th.

At the meeting with the rectors of the universities, the provisional Governor of the Ulyanovsk region Sergey Morozov repeatedly set the task to increase competitiveness of Ulyanovsk universities and to bring them to the list of the best world higher education institutions. "It is gratifying to know that our universities have been included into the world ratings for a number of years. It shows the high quality of education in these universities, their involvement into the scientific research and willingness to communicate with future employers. A noteworthy detail is that 173 of the 896 Russian higher educational institutions were included into the rating, including three Ulyanovsk ones", - commented Ekaterina Uba, the Deputy Prime Minister of the Ulyanovsk region - the Minister of Education and Science.

"I am glad that I chose the Ulyanovsk state university. It really deserves to be among the best world higher education institutions. There are highly experienced teachers, the real experts. Here students can receive quality education: there are all necessary conditions, a great library, and various events and motivational competitions are carried out", - said Lyubov Fomichyova, a fourth-year student of the Ulyanovsk State University.

Ekaterina Akhmetshina, the Associate Professor of Chair of Political science, Sociology and Public relations of ULSTU, commented on the progress of the university: "I think it is very important that Ulyanovsk universities were included in the list of the best higher education institutions of the Russian Federation in the same category with such high-status universities as the Perm State National Research University and the National Research Saratov State University named after N.G.Chernyshevsky."
