Altai Territory and Israel plan to cooperate in health care, tourism and agribusiness

A delegation from the Altai Territory has visited Israel. Deputy Governor Alexander Lukyanov has held an official meeting with Alexander Shein, the Ambassador Plenipotentiary to the Russian Federation in the State of Israel.

A delegation from the Altai Territory has visited Israel. Deputy Governor Alexander Lukyanov has held an official meeting with Alexander Shein, the Ambassador Plenipotentiary to the Russian Federation in the State of Israel.

"For our region, the agribusiness and health care are promising areas for cooperation with the Israeli party. We have held negotiations with Michael Amsel, the CEO of LRGroup, focusing on the implementation of joint projects in these areas in the Altai Territory. In June this year, the Israeli partners plan to visit the Region and inspect the investment sites", Mr. Lukyanov emphasized.

The Altai Territory's delegation has visited Tel Aviv University (TAU), one of major Israeli universities. Negotiations took place between Nikolay Kolpakov, the President of the Altai State Agricultural University (ASAU), Igor Saldan, the President of the Altai State Health Care University, and Doctor Haim Ben Yakov, the Director of the Development and Public Relations Department. Agreements have been reached to develop inter-university partnership to train specialists inr agriculture and health care, according to the Tourism, Health Resort Operations, Interregional and International Relations Department.

Experts from Altai have visited Sourasky Medical Center (Ichilov) and familiarized themselves with the operations of its tomographic center and radiological department. Irina Dolgova, the Director of the Altai Territory's Main Department for Health Care and Pharmaceutical Business, and Alexander Lazarev, the Chief Medical Officer of the Altai Territory Cancer Detection Center, held a meeting with Professor Itzhak Shapiro, a Deputy Director of the Hospital. The Parties agreed on arranging internships for Altai oncologists at Tel Aviv Ichilov Hospital, expert exchange and joint provision of telemedicine health care services.

The Altai delegation also met Itzhak Mizrahi, the Director of the Tourism Department of Tel Aviv Mayor's Office. "We have reached agreement on ensuring that tour operators participate in tourist events to be held in the Altai Territory and Israel", Maxim Tatarkin, a Deputy Head of the Tourism, Health Resort Operations, Interregional and International Relations Department, noted.
