Marche, an Italian Region and long-standing foreign partner of the Sverdlovsk Region, is interested in implementing three greenfield projects at Middle Ural – launching of a direct flight between Yekaterinburg and Ancona, construction of a 15,000–20,000 sq.m. logistic hub and arranging of direct supplies of Italian garments and footwear to the Ural market

New joint projects being launched in Sverdlovsk Region with Italian Marche

Marche, an Italian Region and long-standing foreign partner of the Sverdlovsk Region, is interested in implementing three greenfield projects at Middle Ural – launching of a direct flight between Yekaterinburg and Ancona, construction of a 15,000–20,000 sq.m. logistic hub and arranging of direct supplies of Italian garments and footwear to the Ural market.

These plans were presented at a meeting held between Andrei Sobolev, the Sverdlovsk Region's Minister of International and Foreign Relations, and Marche Alberto Drudi, the President of the Union of the Region's Chambers of Commerce and Industries.

We remind that the Sverdlovsk Region and Marche Region cooperate in timber processing and furniture trade. Nowadays, the partnership is developing at a level of representatives of official, business and scientific circles. A number of Middle Ural companies have executed direct agreements with Italian colleagues. For instance, there is an agreement between the Region's Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs and Union of Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises and the CCIs of Pesaro and Urbino provinces and an agreement between the Ural CCI and CCI of Ascoli Piceno province. The Middle Ural also hosts such prominent Italian companies as ENEL, Bucci, Cavenaghi, Gruppo Maccabeo and others. Operations are carried out by a representative office of the Italian Institute for Foreign Trade (I.C.E.), Honorary Consul of Italy to Yekaterinburg, Italian banks and a visa center.

Andrei Sobolev expressed his gratitude to the Marche Region and personally to Alberto Drudi for active cooperation and constancy and also noted the strategical nature of the partnership between the Sverdlovsk Region and Italian Republic that facilitates stable trade turnover, regular contacts and participation of Italian businesses in cooperative projects. In particular, the Parties agreed to continue their dialog at the site of the forthcoming INNOPROM exhibition which is reported to host the Russian-Italian Business Forum.
