Thai investors to invest $1 billion into dairy farm in Ryazan Region
The Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) will invest, jointly with CP Group (Thailand) and Banner Dairy (China) $1 billion to construct a dairy farm in the Ryazan Region. It will be capable of producing 400 thousand tonnes of finished products per annum which will enable the farm to become one of Top 5 major milk processing facilities in the country.
An agreement on implementing the project will be executed on the 18th of May in the presence of Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev and Thai Prime Minister Prayut Chan-Ocha. The farm will be managed by CP Group with Banner Diary providing equipment. The RDIF explained that the farm will feature full production cycle – from growing fodder herbs to outputting finished products and packages. The enterprise will occupy an area of about one thousand hectares with another 50 thousand hectares being allocated for growing agricultural crops. The farm will accommodate a 80 thousand milking herd and its aggregate production capacity will total up to 400 thousand tonnes of milk, cheese and fermented-milk products per annum to be exported, among other countries, to Asian countries, where CP Group is one of major distributors.
