Chinese investors are going to launch a facility in the Volgograd Region that will produce absorbing linen and medical rehabilitation means. The total amount to be invested into the project will be RUB 10 billion.

An appropriate contract has been executed between LLC GK BKS (Volgograd) and Vostok (China). The first stage of the project would create 200 job opportunities. The production of diapers, underpads for adults, absorbing linen and medical technical means will be set up in Volgograd. The construction of the facility will be commenced as early as in 2016.

This investment Russian-Chinese project is a product of the Regional Administration's liaison with the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade – in December 2014, the Volgograd Region was Russia's first constituent entity to be offered by the federal agency to participate in a production development program focusing on social groups.

A total of RUB 80 billion of investments were made in the regional industry in 2015 of which 5 billion represented foreign capital.
