Kaluga-based industrial sites to be presented in Germany and France
From 16 through 21 May this year, the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade will arrange a business mission to Germany and France together with the Clusters and Technology Parks Association and Higher School of Economics.
The business mission is expected to meet with representatives of executive authorities responsible for the industry, specialized associations and unions, and to visit Adlershof (Berlin) and E.S.T.E.R. (France), major EU technology parks, as well as five industrial clusters (AutoCluster.NRW (automotive), ASTech (aerospace), ChemSite (chemistry) and Cluster Ernährung.NRW (food)).
The mission's goal is to improve the technology parks' attractiveness for localizing foreign production facilities.
The Kaluga Region, Germany and France are connected with their long-standing cooperation in many areas. In recent years, Germany has been holding a leading position among foreign countries by foreign investments into the economy of the Kaluga Region. The following companies are implementing investment projects in the Region: LLC VOLKSWAGEN GROUP RUS; LLC Benteler Automotive (manufacturing parts and modules for arbor supports), enterprises of Continental concern, LLC Shardel Kaluga (manufacturing seat frames for motor cars), LLC FUKS OIL (manufacturing lubricants and related materials), LLC AIS Automotive Interior Systems (molding of plastics), LLC MALE RUS (a warehouse compound supplying products to automotive producers hosted by VORSINO Industrial Palr), LLC Khemofarm (manufacturing medicinal preparations), such agricultural companies as Grimme, Lemken, Wolf System, Big Dutchman and ECONIVA-KALUGA Russian-German enterprise. Approximately 10 Russian-German joint-venture companies are registered in the Kaluga Region.
France is also among the Kaluga Region's foreign partners. The Region hosts French projects being implemented by PSMA Rus (joint-venture company of PSA Peugeot Citroen and Mitsubishi Motors) and plants owned by Faurecia Group concern manufacturing automotive components. The French equity is also present in the construction segment as in May 2014 Lafarge Group's cement factory was commissioned. L'Oreal, a major cosmetics company, has placed its enterprise in Vorsino Industrial Park. The Region cooperates with GEFCO in logistics and transport services.
A total of 12 industrial parks have been created in the Kaluga Region whose areas is approximately 7,800 hectares and Kaluga Special Economic Zone having an area of 1,042 hectares.
