JFE Engineering Corporation, a Japanese engineering company, plans to spend some RUB 1 billion to implement a project on developing greenhouse facilities and vegetable growing in Primorye.

The project, which is scheduled to be commended in 2016–2017, has been initiated by the Japanese party. Total investments will be around RUB 1 billion while the area of greenhouses will total 5 hectares, according to the Primorye Territory's Press Office.

JFE Engineering Corporation said they hope that the project will succeed as environmental conditions and landscape in Vladivostok are similar to those in the city of Tamokomay on the Hokkaido Island where the company carries out its agricultural business. "Those developments that we managed to achieve during our work in Tomokomay may be successfully applied by us in Primorye", Kano Hisanori, the CEO of JFE Engineering Corporation, told.

Moreover, it takes only 2 hours to get from Tokyo Airport to Vladivostok by air – this is less than some internal flights in Japan, the Japanese businessman noted.
