Two new plants to be opened in Alabuga SEZ

Two foreign enterprises have attracted more than one billion dollars to Alabuga.

The projects being constructed by the residents of Alabuga Special Economic Zone have been visited today by President Rustam Minnikhanov of Tatarstan. He inspected the construction progress of the second phase of KASTAMONU facility and of a new plant being erected by Drylock, a Belgian company.

The amount to be invested in the construction of KASTAMONU's second phase is $250 million which will drive the facility's total output almost to 1 million cubic meter per annum. The aggregate amount invested by the company to its Alabuga-based facility has reached $600 million so far with this figure ranking No.2 among all residents of the SEZ with only Ford Sollers above it.

Belgian company Drylock is constructing in Alabuga a plant to produce sanitary and hygienic incontinence products for women, children and people with limited mobility. The company used to freeze the construction in 2013, but having assessed Tatarstan's potential the foreign investors elected to resume the project. We would note that the amount invested totals RUB 1.16 billion and the plant is expected to be commissioned in July 2016.
