Israeli business takes interest in growing sunroot in Saratov

The Saratov Region has been visited by representatives of Israeli businesses. The guests' visit is a return visit to a business mission of a Saratov delegation to Israel that took place earlier. Representatives of NaanDanJain Irrigation Ltd. and YAMKO Industries Ltd. have visited several agricultural enterprises such as Sovkhoz Vesna, Volga Greenhouse Compound, Volga Agricultural Firm, SGAY Agricultural Center and Pavel Scherenko's Peasant Farm. An agrarian university hosted a meeting held between Israel's representatives and the Region's farmers and scientific community. "To implement the agreements reached during the business mission as soon as possible, the parties have agreed to go through a number of business plans. Firstly, it is planned to estimate projects providing for upgrading greenhouse facilities and installing irrigation systems at Agro Center. Secondly, the guests have expressed interest in the opportunity to create joint venture companies in the Region such as greenhouse compounds, a turkey-breeding complex as well as animal production units for goat-breeding and producing goat cheese and milk. And thirdly, a project on growing and processing sunroot to produce insulin and inulin based on one of our enterprises", Vladimir Pozharov, the Minister of Economic Development and Investment Policy of the Region, told. The first of the above named Israeli companies is a manufacturer and supplier of spray and irrigation systems, the second one specializes in the construction of greenhouse compounds, poultry farms, dairy farms and logistic centers.
