Japanese entity to offer know-how to develop logistics in Primorye
First Vice Governor Vasily Usoltsev of the Primorye Territory has held a working meeting with a delegation representing Toyo Trans Inc, a Japanese company. The businessmen from the Land of the Rising Sun intend to facilitate the development of the Territory's logistic sector.
Takakhasi Isao, the CEO of the company, said that his company has been dealing with the transportation of cargo for more than 40 years. The company sees the Primorye Territory as part of its promising development targets.
Vasily Usoltsev confirmed that the transport industry ranks among the top priority sectors in the structure of the Primorye Territory's economy. Despite all challenges, port enterprises have succeeded in keeping their outputs, but upgrading and expansion are necessary.
"There are plans for developing ports as such, and ports handling coal also have large-scale programmes in place. For example, it is planned to involve the Japanese company in the construction of a terminal in the Partizansky District designed for heavy-tonnage vessels normally used by Japan for transporting coal", he told to the guests.
The first thing the businessmen did was studying the local market. The delegation has already visited several ports in Vladivostok and plans to also visit Nakhodka. Toyo Trans Inc's representatives also plan to present their plans to upgrade refrigeration and warehouse capacities in the Territory.
