Investors from China are constructing a greenhouse compound in the Starorussky District, Novgorod Region. By the way, a farm producing vegetables that was opened in the Chudovsky District a few years ago was the Region's first project involving Chinese investments. Today, this municipality already has three successfully operating firms – LLC Berezeyevo-1, Berezeyevo-2 and Hunway agricultural company with more than a hundred of workers and more than two tens of mini-machinery working now at the greenhouse compound behind Gruzino Village, Chudovksy District. They are covering the greenhouses with polyethylene film, preparing soil and sowing cucumber and tomato seedlings in the greenhouses.

"This year, 300 greenhouses will be used to grow vegetables here. Vegetables will also be grown out of door at an area of some 100 hectares. The first crop of greenhouse cucumbers and tomatoes is expected to be secured in the mid of June. And the cropping of vitamined products will continue up until late autumn", Ian Jundun, the project's investor and CEO of Harbin restaurant chain (St. Petersburg), told.

It is expected that in 2016 this greenhouse facility will produce 17,000 tonnes of vegetables, up 2,000 as compared with the previous one.

The Chudovksy project has also extended to the Starorussky District. Greenhouses are now being constructed behind Davuidovo Village on lands which previously remained unused. 20 greenhouses are expected to be erected, each having a length of 150 meters. Furthermore, cabbage will be grown out of doors at an area of 200 hectares. To process soils and grow cabbage, various agricultural machinery has been purchased for more than RUB 10 mln.
