The agroindustrial complex will be the key focus of the cooperation effort. Furthermore, discussions focus on potential cooperation in healthcare, science and student exchange opportunities under existing Russian and Israeli programmes.

As part of the Orel Region Delegation's visit to Israel, a presentation was held showing the Region's potential while its investment opportunities were described by Deputy PM Sergey Filatov.

During their meetings with Israeli businesses, Orel residents expressed their interest in cooperation in agriculture (including greenhouse production), food and pharmaceutical industries and dairy farming – areas where Israel is a global leader. The Orel delegation comprehensively studied the grain storage techniques employed in Israel where storage losses do not exceed 0.5%. This is achieved through inspections and development of new processing methods based on safe substances, including ether oils.

Healthcare may become another point of cooperation. Clalit, a company whose customer base covers 53% of the country's nationals, has advanced experience in healthcare and is interested in developing cooperation with regions of Russia.

The Israeli have presented about 20 companies that are ready to cooperate with the Region in agriculture (greenhouses, watering and aeration systems), fish farming (fish breeding on an industrial scale with some of the projects having already been implemented in Russia), plant production, livestock-raising (turkey breeding and automation of cowsheds), healthcare (pharmacy) and science.
