In early April, a meeting was held at the Kirov Plant which was attended by the top managers of the holding company, such as the CEO of OJSC Kirov Plant Georgy Semenenko and directors of its subsidiaries, Consul General of the Czech Republic in Saint-Petersburg Karel Kunl, representatives of Czech industrial companies and regional press.

In the course of the visit, the members of the diplomatic mission and businessmen reviewed the latest results of a project being implemented to introduce innovative trains NeVa in the St.Petersburg Subway by LLC Vagonmash, a joint venture company between the Kirov Plant and Czech Skoda Transportation. The guests have also visited the assembling and welding shop and tractor-assembling conveyor of St.Petersburg Tractor Plant (a subsidiary of OJSC Kirov Plant), which commenced to supply Kirovets model tractors to the Czech Republic in March 2016. One of the main goals of the meeting was to discuss cooperation opportunities between the Kirov Plant and Czech companies. Corporate services and products were presented by LLC ANAJ ROSS (designing and manufacturing metal working tools), ADAM DESIGN s.r.o (industrial design) and STROJIRNY POLDY s.r.o (manufacturing bent shafts, including for tractor machinery). In his interview given to journalists, Consul General of the Czech Republic in Saint-Petersburg Karel Kunl noted that "the Czech Government has always supported cooperation between Russian and Czech companies and not only because we are all linked to a big and long history."

The companies exchanged their implementation experiences relating to similar industrial projects and agreed to hold future and more detailed negotiations. The Kirov Plant and Skoda Transportation are jointly making efforts to implement a contract providing for the supply of 54 cars for the ST-Petersburg Subway. The first 9 sets of NeVas manufactured under the contract have been enjoyed by the Nevsko-Vasileostrovskaya line since 2013. The last cars will be commissioned not later than July 2017.
