China has come forward with an initiative to migrate its production capacities belonging to 12 economic sectors, including chemical and metallurgy, to the Russian Far East. This was reported by the Ministry for Development of Russian Far East based on the results of a visit made by the Ministry's Director Alexander Galushka to Beijing.
The potential migration of production capacities was discussed at the negotiations that took place between Rustam Makarov, a Department Director of the Ministry for Development of Russian Far East, and Zhou Jianping, the Director of the Department for the Development of Industry in North-East Provinces, PRC State Committee for Development and Reforms .
"This is about migrating Chinese enterprises to the Far East subject to mandatory compliance with the environmental requirements established in Russia", the message states. As follows from it, China has come up with an initiative "to migrate production capacities belonging to 12 top-priority economic sectors. " This refers to construction, metallurgy, power economy, machine-building, shipbuilding, chemical, textile, cement industries, telecommunications and agriculture.
The Chinese party is "ready to actively engage private and public companies to implement" such projects, Mr. Jianping noted during the negotiations.
In his turn, the representative of the Ministry for Development of Russian Far East confirmed that the Russian party is ready to interface. He noted that new enterprises to be created in advanced development areas and Vladivostok Free Port will benefit from considerable tax and administrative preferences.
