Neryungri Metallic, a gold-mining company (Republic of Sakha, Yakutia), being a member of Nordgold international company, has constructed and commissioned a new chemical laboratory featuring modern equipment and devices.

The new laboratory is located (in common with the previous one) in close vicinity to the gold recovery plant. However, it occupies more than 170 square meters and a standalone module type building.

More than RUB 12 million were invested in the construction of the new laboratory and its equipment. For Neryungri, it is a very important project as new analytical information will help to effectively develop Taborny and Gross mines.

Vitaly Zagan, the Director of Neryungri Mine, noted that "Any construction here, in a remote location from civilized settlements and amid the heavy-going boreal forest, is a tremendous event. That's why the construction of the new chemical laboratory at the Mine is an unprecedented project we are proud of."

This year, Neryungri-Metallic plans to invest money to upgrade and develop the facility. Thus, almost RUB 600 million are expected to be devoted to repair equipment, replace key technical units, purchase spare parts and renew the truck fleet.

LLC Neryungri-Metallic, a member of Nordgold, has been involved in gold-mining operations at the Taborny open-pit mine located in Olekminsky settlement (ulus) in the south-western part of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) since 2000. Nordgold is an international gold-mining company featuring low cost production that was founded in 2007, whose global depositary receipts are traded at the London Stock Exchange. The company owns 9 operating mines (5 in Russia, 2 in Burkina Faso, 1 in Guinea and 1 in Kazakhstan). Nordgold also has two projects that are currently at design and construction phases (Bouly in Burkina Faso and Gross in Russia), 4 projects featuring localized resources and a wide portfolio of geological exploration projects and licenses in Burkina Faso, Russia, French Guiana and Canada. Nordgold's headcount is more than 8,000 employees.
