A ski resort to be constructed in Belokurikha-2 for RUB 6 billion

A modern ski resort featuring all necessary infrastructural components will be constructed on the site of Belokurikha-2. This was announced by Governor of the Altai Territory Alexander Karlin on 24 February this year during his meeting with President of Russia Vladimir Putin.

Private investments in the construction of the project will total six billion rubles. Mr. Karlin didn't name the investor.

As known earlier, Olympic City intends to launch the first phase of the skiing facility in Belokurikha-2 during the winter season 2017–2018. This will be the main piste featuring a 6-seat chair lift and three satellite trails.

About RUB 1 billion must be invested by the company only for the construction of the first phase. The investor says hotels of international chains are likely to be built in addition to the pistes.

Three or four hotels are planned to be built here. These will be 3 to 5-star hotels of international brands.

Olympic City will proceed to the construction of the skiing facility in early 2016. So far, it is the largest investor for the new resort.

According to Olympic City's representatives, Belokurikha-2 is a more promising site than the existing ski resort Sheregesh.
