Phase 1 of Moloko Chernozemiya megafarm (a member of Molvest) for 5,000 milk cows has opened in the Anninsky District, Voronezh Region. The entire facility is estimated to be 95% complete.

The total cost of the investment project is estimated to be almost RUB 3.4 billion. The actual amount of investments totaled about RUB 2.1 billion at the end of February. Moreover, RUB 122 million was invested to fuel its working capital.

A remarkable thing is that the opening ceremony relating to Phase 1 was attended by Governor of the Voronezh Region Aleksey Gordeyev, Head of the Ministry of Agriculture Alexander Tkachev and Deputy of the State Duma representing the Voronezh Region Arkady Ponomarev.

Currently, the second milking room is being finalized and landscaping and planting work is ongoing. For the time being, more than 2.6 thousand brood cows have been brought with more than 900 cows being expected to arrive in February. The complete commissioning is expected to take place in spring 2016.

The commissioning of the complex will allow receiving approximately 107,000 tonnes of milk a day from the megafarm (38.9 thousand tonnes of raw milk p.a.). The project provides for the construction of 28 buildings and structures with a total area of 65.8 thousand sq.m., including eight cow kennels, milk rooms, heifer blocks, infrastructural facilities and structures.

We also remind that another project of a Voronezh-based company is continued to be implemented. The project contemplates the creation of a 9,600 replacement heifer and young stock facility near Novomarkovka village, Kantemirovsky District, Voronezh Region. Currently 11 of 15 planned calf sheds have been completed on-site.

The cost of the project is estimated at RUB 1.1 billion. The completion of phase 2 of the facility in the Kantemirovsky District is expected to increase the milking herd to 4,000 cows with the annual milk production growing from 18.5 to 28 thousand tonnes. The facility will comprise various young stock blocks, an artificial insemination station, galleries, a silage-and-hay trench and other modules.

Molvest was founded in 2006 based on OJSC Voronezh Milk Plant. it currently ranks No.3 in Russia by milk output in the traditional milk products segment. It processes more than 350,000 tonnes of milk per year. The group comprises eight production facilities operating in Russia and 13 sale offices in different regions of European Russia. The company produces and sells milk products under such trademarks as "Vkusneyevo", "Nezhny Vozrast", "Fruate", "Ivan Poddubny", "Volzhskiye Prostory" and "Kubansky Khutorok" with its product range exceeding 200 articles.
