On the 10th February, Governor of the Novgorod Region Sergey Mitin held a meeting with Consulate General of the Netherlands in Saint-Petersburg Hans Wesseling.
Three companies featuring Dutch shareholdings operate nowadays in the region. A branch of Limited Liability company URSA Eurasia in Chudovo produces fiberglass. A branch of Limited Liability Company Mon’delis Rus in Chudovo specializes in producing chocolate and sugary confectionery products. LLC IKEA Industry Novgorod produces wood veneer, panels and boards.
"We would like to have more similar companies. I do not rule out the possibility that our meeting will greatly encourage their increase. If economy is developing, other areas also evolve, for example, culture and tourism", Sergey Mitin noted.
"Today export operations are very challenging. We see prospects in import substitution. Products have to be manufactured inside Russia. This is the way Lenta's managers already use to work. They cooperate with Russian producers of milk products and vegetables. The agroindustrial complex is the most critical sector of economy for joint cooperation", Hans Wesseling said in his turn.
