Astrakhan's Administration has signed documents approving the first phase to upgrade Astrvodokanal Municipal Unitary Enterprise via an integrated energy service contract with Schneider Electric. Signatures were exchanged by the Director of Astrvodokanal Vladimir Aldjanov and Schneider Electric's Vice President for Energy Engineering Services Gols Fouladinejad.

The execution of the contract will trigger the first phase to upgrade Astrvodokanal comprising energy service audit, development of and preparation for implementing energy-efficient measures. All key work areas of the enterprise need to be upgraded – sewerage pump stations, water supply and sewage treatment facilities with more than 200 facilities in total. The audit will take six month to be followed by the second phase and Schneider Electric will facilitate attracting energy service companies to participate in work relating to Astrvodokanal's facilities.

The payback period of the energy service contractor for the enterprise will be 3 to 7 years depending on energy resource savings and prices for equipment. It is estimated that the implementation of the project will generate RUB 100 million of savings annually.

Schneider Electric has representative offices in 35 cities of Russia managed by its Moscow-based head office. The company's headcount in Russia is about 12,000 employees. Its production base in Russia comprises 6 plants and 3 logistic centers.
