Disney intends to establish cooperation with EnterIdeasa, a resident of Novosibirsk Academic Park's instrument engineering business incubator.
Disney's representatives took interest in a big virtual reality media dome newly developed by the company. Disney is considering the possibility of using the domes to present itself at onsite presentation events. Currently, a letter of interest has been signed and the second phase of negotiations will take place in spring in Los Angeles.
The multiprojection device is 20–30 meters in diameter and is equipped with 36 projectors. It is designed to dip up to 600 persons in virtual reality simultaneously. The invention costs $300 to 400 thousand which is approximately 10 times below the price of foreign analogues.
Previously, the business incubator developed a 5 meters mini-planetarium with one projector. The resident company of the Academic Park's business incubator has sold more than 40 fulldome systems since 2013. The systems are installed elsewhere across Russia. One of the latest projects includes the construction of a virtual prehistoric animals aquarium that will be installed in Novosibirsk Zoo in 2016.
