Poly Technologies, a Chinese company, has confirmed its intention to participate in two projects contemplating the construction of Belkomur trunk railway and a deep-water port in Arkhangelsk.

The construction of the trunk railway and deep-water port in Arkhangelsk will encircle the Northern Sea Route through the ports of Arkhangelsk and Murmansk to make way to transit cargo traffic. This project must boost the economy of 4 Russian regions - Arkhangelsk Region, Murmansk Region, Komi Republic and Perm Territory. The projects' financial and process models are currently being finalized considering interests of the Chinese investors.

Upon the creation of its deep-water port, the city of Arkhangelsk will become a major logistic center in the northern part of Russia. Not less than 40 new companies will be created to work over this railway and the number of new employment opportunities will exceed 28 thousand.
