Kesko, a Finnish retail chain, has open its ninth Russian grocery store in Saint-Petersburg. This is the fourth store of the retail chain opened by the company in the city and region in 2015.
"Kesko will continue to invest in Russia, but each such decision will be subject to a comprehensive review", Mr. Kari Heiskanen, the Area Director for Russia, said. The company plans to open three K-ruoka hypermarkets in Russia in 2016.
Kesko introduced its food retail chain to the Russian market in 2012. As at year-end 2014, it comprised 5 stores. Moreover, the retail chain also develops its Russian chain of DIY hypermarkets and chain of Intersport branded sports stores.
