A conference called "The Potential Role of Italy in Developing the North Caucasus" took place in Magasa as part of efforts aimed to implement "Italy Meets Caucasus" Project designed to establish business contacts and trade and economic relations between the business people of Italy and regions of the North Caucasian Federal District.
The conference has resulted in the creation of work teams that will study the potential of the agro-industrial sector and deal with issues associated with the development of the housing and utility sector and tourism, Pierpaolo Lodigiani, Honorary Consul General of the Italian Republic in the Southern and North Caucasian Federal Districts, told TASS.
"We are talking about seed production, product processing, storing and packing, and the creation of a cooperation system among farmers", he explained. According to the Consul, "there is an investor who is ready to come and invest money to implement such projects" as the construction of hydroelectric and wind power stations.
Yunus-Bek Evkurov, the Governor of Ingushetia, said that Italian partners would be supported in implementing joint projects.
