The Ulyanovsk Region's first ever plant owned by Hempel, a Danish company, has opened. The plant is located in the territory of Zavolzhye Industrial Park. The Plant will produce varnish-and-paint anti-corrosive coatings for marine vessels and steel work designed for infrastructural facilities, bridges, power stations, oil refineries, chemical factories, offshore and onshore oil-and-gas facilities and pipelines, including new products developed specifically for Russia's unique environmental and market conditions.

"I am glad Danish enterprises start to work in the Russian market. In the existing challenging situation, we assure that the Danes will keep working in Russia", Thomas Winkler, the Danish Ambassador in Russia, explained.

The Ulyanovsk Region's plant is the 28^th facility owned by the company globally and the first plant in Russia. It will produce 16 million liters of paint per annum.

It was the Ulyanovsk Region which was selected by Hempel's management due to the Region's well organized resource base and infrastructure as well as geographical location that optimizes product deliveries to customers in Russia and other member countries of the Eurasian Economic Union.

One of the most advanced regulatory frameworks has been established in the Ulyanovsk Region. Due to the creation of comfortable business conditions, the authorities succeed in attracting large global companies. A pool of partners, suppliers and consumers is going to be created in a short time that will also include small and medium enterprises.
