A delegation from India visited the Samara region this week. The guests, representatives of more than 20 companies – members of the Automotive Component Manufacturers Association of India (ACMA), attended business meetings with local auto manufacturers and suppliers and other interested companies.
The SEZ “Tolyatti” presented its opportunities for auto manufacturers. Due to the proximity to Avtovaz-Renault-Nissan Alliance, the automobile industry is the most developed one in the special economic zone. 75% of the residents of the SEZ are engaged in the automobile manufacturing and today are forming a strong automobile cluster in the Samara region. All these companies are subsidiaries of large international companies rewarded for the high quality of their products.
The manufacturers already operating in the SEZ or being prepared for launch were of particular interest for the Indian guests. Turkish factory “Nobel Automotive Russia” and Spanish “SIE Automotive Rus” are already operational, and their experience in Russia has been very helpful for the Indian investors. The employees of the SEZ, in their turn, promised support at all stages of project implementation. Several Indian companies provided their contact information and indicated that they are ready to discuss concerned issues in the following.
