Swiss company «Rise Capital» will invest in the project of Obskaya-Karskaya Railway extension to Sabetta. The project originator is the regional fund “Yamal”.
The construction will cost 90 billion rubles; the commissioning of a new railway will coincide with launch of a gas liquefication factory and a port of Sabetta.
Bovanenkovo-Sabetta section is the last section of Northern Latitudinal Railway. 572-km Obskaya-Bovanenko-Karskaya railway line was built by Gazprom in order to develop and exploit gas condensate fields of the peninsula (Bovanenkovskoe, Kharasaveiskoye and the neighboring fields) and in prospect other gas and oil Yamal fields. The railway is the world’s northernmost railway. It includes 5 stations, 12 passing places and 70 bridges.
