Pig-breeding company “Otrada Gen” bought a 5,500 ha land plot in Dolgorukovsky District of Lipetsk Region, where it plans to build a pig-breeding complex for 70 thousand heads at a time. Patrick Hoffmann, the General Director of “Otrada Gen”, hasn’t disclosed the cost of the project. According to Morgachev, “such complexes cost generally more than 1 billion rubles”.
The regional agriculture directorate explained that “Otrada Gen” Ltd., based in Dobrinsky District, has started to expand to other districts in 2015. In particular, the company plans to buy out a property of bankrupt company “Yukon” in Usmansky District, pledged to public limited company Rosselkhozbank.
“Otrada Gen” Ltd. was founded by Patrick Hoffmann in 2005 and specializes in breeding and selection of DanAvl-genetics pigs. The company is the nucleus of Yorkshire, Landrace and Deroc breeds. The investors of the company, besides Hoffmann, are French company Sucden, the General Director of “McDonalds” in Russia Hamzat Hasbulatov and the President of French-Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Emmanuel Quidet.
