DuPont Pioneer Company will construct a seed production plant in Russia, said Paolo Barbieri, the Regional Director of DuPont Pioneer Europe. The location of the future plant and the project implementation period are not disclosed.

Mr. Barbieri admitted that the devaluation of ruble caused an increase in foreign seeds cost, but in the nearest future the company will switch to ruble payments. In 2014 DuPont Pioneer has already dropped the prices in dollar terms for Russian buyers. In future the company plans to “detach” its prices from the currency rate and to “leave only inflationary component”, said Mr. Barbireri.

Alexander Kozachkov, the General Director of DuPont Pioneer in Russia announced that the company has extensive plans for Russian market. Today’s Russian share in company’s total turnover of 1% can easily reach 10% in several years. “Russia is among the few countries with a potential for solid growth”, said Mr. Kozachkov. In Southern and North Caucasian Federal Districts DuPont Pioneer will stake on corn, sunflower and winter rape seeds.
