New priority development territory in Chukotka region

A priority development territory “Beringovsky” will be located in Anadyrsky district onsite a group of coalfields. Australian company “Tigers Realm Coal Limited” develops Bering coal basin resources since 2012.

The government has already defined the location of the priority development territory, types of economic activities with special legal regulation and a minimum volume of residents’ capital investments. The custom regime on the priority development territory will be the same as one established by Eurasian Economic Union in free trade zones. The construction of transport infrastructure will be funded by non-budgetary sources.

In the past week the government also signed decrees on creation of priority development territories “Priamurskaya” and “Belogorsk” in Amur region, “Mikhailovsky” in Kamchatka and “Kangalassy” in Yakutia. Consequently, the total number of priority development territories in the Russian Far East (including earlier created “Nadezhdincky” in Primorye and “Khabarovsk” and “Komsomolsk” in Khabarovsk region) reached eight.
