On the initiative of Khabarovsk Krai authorities, another territory of priority development may be created in Nikolayevsk-on-Amur, according to the governor Vyacheslav Shport. The idea of a free northern port will attract investors due to stability and investment efficiency.

On the initiative of Khabarovsk Krai authorities, another territory of priority development may be created in Nikolayevsk-on-Amur, according to the governor Vyacheslav Shport. The idea of a free northern port will attract investors due to stability and investment efficiency.

The governor Vyacheslav Shport considers “a complicated cargo delivery logistics” to be the main problem of Nikolayevsk-on-Amur. Because of the lack of railway and highway communications and the river transport seasonality the creation of a new high-quality logistic center is a high priority. For this purpose a modern airport and air-terminal complex were already built.

The governor also mentioned that the territory of priority development in Nikolayevsk-on-Amur can attract the Sea of Okhotsk’s fishing fleet and this cooperation will have a positive impact on the region’s economy.

Three territories of priority development were created on 25 June by government enactments. Two of them are located in Khabarovsk Krai (“Khabarovsk” and “Komsomolsk”), another one – in Primorsky Krai. Six projects of territories of priority development are already approved and the corresponding regulations are expected to be enacted before the Eastern economic forum that will take place in September 3-5 in Vladivostok.
