Russian Union of Metal and Steel Suppliers
On 11 June, 1997 Russian Association of Metal and Steel Traders, a non-commercial organization was founded by metal and steel trading companies form different regions of Russia operating in various sections of the commodity market such as rolled steel products, tubes, metal products, raw materials and rolled metal products, wastes and metal and steel scrap etc.
On 15 June, 2005 On June 15, 2005 at the Annual Meeting of the Association by the majority of votes the decision was made to rename the Russian Association of Metal and Steel Traders into Russian Union of Metal and Steel Suppliers (RUMSS).
Main Goals and Tasks
The main task of the Union is to further the development of members of the Union improving their professionalism and stability at the metal and steel market.
Representation and protection of interests of the members of the Union on the domestic as well as international markets, as well as coordination of their activities and to solving of disputes;
Improvement of professional level of the staff of the members of the Union as regards to sales of metal and steel products, supplies, metal and steel trading, marketing, logistics, socking etc.;
Organization of meetings, consultations, and conferences with Russian and international metal and steel traders, support of metallurgists as regards to increase of production and sales volumes;
Protection of the domestic market from unfair players and competition from outside, exchange of information on unfair market players;
Application of up-to-date methods of sales, metal and steel trading, pre-sales processing, recycling etc.
