On the 18th of January, 2007 in Moscow, the leading tour operators decided to establish the Association of Tour Operators – non-profit branch Association that protects the interests of tour operators' community.

Currently ATOR (the Association of Tour Operators of Russia) includes the largest companies - tour operators from different regions of Russia. In total, ATOR (the Association of Tour Operators of Russia) members provide more than 80% of organized outbound tourism flow from Russia, over 70% of inbound tourism flow and about 60% of domestic tourism flow.

ATOR (the Association of Tour Operators of Russia) defends the interests of its members, providing legal and informational support. On the Association's website you can always find the most relevant news of tourism and news of the companies - members of the ATOR (the Association of Tour Operators of Russia).

Since 2009 ATOR (the Association of Tour Operators of Russia) is an associate member of the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO).

In 2014 the company was awarded the World Travel Leaders Award as the best tourism organization from Russia.

MISSION

The objectives of the Association are:

• Improving the competitiveness of business and other economic activities of the Russian tour operators on domestic and international markets, as well as their social responsibility to the citizens, society and state;

• Promoting in the Russian Federation the development of responsible, sustainable and universally accessible tourism as a condition of worthy life and free development of man in the social state, a decisive factor in the quality of life of citizens, as well as privileged means of individual and collective improvement;

• Promoting and protecting the rights and legitimate interests of legal entities, citizens of the Russian Federation in the field of tourism, health resort industry and other sectors associated with tourism;

• Assisting in carrying out fundamental and applied scientific (scientific and technical) research in the sphere of tourism activity, experimental developments, practical implementation of scientific and scientific-technical results.

The subject of activity of the Association is:

• Promotion and coordination of entrepreneurial and other economic activities of the members of the Association;

• Development of self-regulation and competition in tourism activities;

• Facilitation of the settlement of disputes arising between subjects of tourism industry, as well as between the subjects of the tourism industry and citizens;

• Promotion of the observance of legality and the rule of law in the sphere of tourism activity;

• Supporting the integration of the tourism industry of the Russian Federation into the world economy, protection of interests of Russian entrepreneurs and citizens at the international market;

• Human resource development, enhancing the prestige of employment and other professional activities in the tourism industry;

• Raising awareness of citizens and their associations, public authorities and local government about the importance of tourism in modern society, the individual and social values;

• The formation of the Russian Federation as a country favorable for tourism development;

• Promoting the safety of tourism, liberalization of tourism and simplification of tourism formalities;

• Raising awareness of citizens and their associations, public authorities and local government regarding the importance of tourism in modern society, its individual and social significance and value;

• Creating positive image of the Russian Federation as a country favorable for tourism development;

• Promoting the safety of tourism, liberalization of tourism and simplification of tourism formalities;

• The development of information technologies and other forms of innovative tourism activities.

• Provision of tourism information services;

• Editing magazines and periodic publications;

• Advising on commercial activity and management;

• Research of market conditions;
